60 km from Dindigul and 120 km from Madurai. It is located amidst the Palani
hills at an altitude of 2133 m in the Western Ghats. This 'Princess of Hill
Stations' was discovered by the American missionaries in 1845. Surrounded by
thickly wooded slopes, mighty rocks, cascading waterfalls and fragrant
colorful flowers, Kodiakanal offers some breathtaking views of the plains
below. The indegenious Kurinji-flower which blooms once in 12 years is the
asset of Kodaikanal. The hill station is also home to educational

Buses are available from Chennai, Madurai, Dindigul and Trichy to Kodaikanal.Those who come by rail have to get down at Kodai Road Railway Station on the Chennai-Madurai line and take buses from there.
